For Providers ACG Hospice teams earn 2024 SHPBest™ “Superior Performer” Caregiver Experience Awards Aug 1, 2025 ACG Hospice teams have been recognized by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) for achieving an overall caregiver and family experience score of all eligible SHP clients for the 2024 calendar year. ACG Hospice care teams in Birmingham AL, Gardendale AL, Houma LA, Rainbow City AL, and Tuscaloosa AL were awarded “Superior Performer” and ranked in the top 20% for caregiver and family experience scores. These SHPBestTM awards are indicative of the ACG Hospice vision to be recognized as the premier provider of care known for our superior patient-family experience, delivering the highest quality care, and building a culture of excellence, and our mission to serve with love, providing comfort and support with compassionate care and meaningful experiences. The annual SHPBest™ award program was created to acknowledge hospice providers that consistently provide high quality service to families and caregivers of patients receiving hospice care. The 2024 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall CAHPS Hospice caregiver experience score for more than 1,800 hospice providers. The CAHPS score comes from the research-backed and standardized survey called the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), part of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, developed the CAHPS program to improve scientific understanding of patient experience and ultimately help advance the delivery of safe, patient-centered care. The CAHPS survey is given to the family members and caregivers of all our patients. Not only is it used by our team to understand how we can improve our care, but it’s also used by Medicare to measure and compare health care providers.
